Talking Time's on my side. ;]

i'm tony.
from sycamore, illinois [ about 60 miles straight west of chicago ].
cars are my life. and i've grown up w/ them.

i luff imports, and i'm aspiring to own a 2006 evo ix mr next fall [ 2009. ]
i'm gonna be 18, may of 09.
you might not think an evo is a "realistic aspiration" for a 17 year old. but a few years back i was bit in the face by a golden retriever, had to have reconstructive surgery on my nose, and my tear duct replaced in my right eye. me, being 6/7 years old at the time of the bit, got all the medical expenses paid to me [ dog bite wasn't my fault ]. thanks to me madre, she put the $16000 into high interest savings accounts [ 4% interest p/year ] 10-12 years later, it's up around $30,000. college will be paid off in full. then the rest is mine for fun. ;]

please gimme some suggestions on what car you think i should get.
i'm looking at some 2006 evo ix mr's. some 2004 vw r32's, a 2002 honda s2000, and some other random cars. haha.
suggestions are encouraged, and i appreciate your time. :]

i get the money in aug of 09, but in may / june of 09 i'm getting a 2008 yamaha r6. so if there are any motorcycle fans out there, please lemme know what you think i should do w/ it.

again, comments and suggestions are encouraged and appreciated!

welcome to the forum, dont be shy post away!

MHO is pick the s2000, its a high-revving na car with rear wheel drive and its a much more passioned car, more intense and will give you more feedback than the evo or the golf. of course is also more tricky, and maybe not has fast has the evo ultimately is, but hey its a convertible so it will get you pussy

again welcome and have fun, dont be shy to stick your nose in some conversation and start posting, everyone here does the same

thanks dude.
a good buddy of mine has a black 02 s2k w/ the 2.0 liter engine [ the good one imo ], it has 22000 miles on it, and he got it for 16 g's, it was a garage beauty in chicago, and he got 7000 out of his 01 eclipse spyder 5 spd w/ aem v2 and skunk2 cbe, so he ultimately paid $10000 after t/t/l, not bad for a sick little car. but the problem is...he doesn't drive it very often, and it's always immaculate [ clean ], so we'll see, i think it's gonna come down to me getting either the evo or s2k.

thanks for the input dude.

that's what i was thinking, plus it's a sedan [ technically, though it doesn't act like one. ;] ], and you know how the winters CAN be here, not saying they always are, but can get pretty bad, and the little s2000 wouldn't be getting much traction in our icy times.

i'm leaning toward the evo for the awd all season drivability, my only rough spot is the cost. the evo is still up around 30k, while i could get a nice s2000 for 20k.
thanks evil, i appreciate it.

How big are you? I sat in an S2000 once and it was really really cramped. I'm not that big of a dude (5'10 200) and I definitely couldn't live with it. I love my R32, but it's not as fast as an EVO or STI.

at this point and time i'm 5'6"/5'7" 125-130 lbs. not very big. but an s2k is comfortable for me.
rode in an r32 once and i was simply amazed by the power. plus the interior is spectacular. i love the blue gauges and all the designing inside.
then again, evo's look amazing, and are powerful w/ so much room for mods and improvement. haha.

The evo has much better aftermarket support, but if you want to go big, get a corvette and keep the acura for a winter ride.
