Hello All
Hey Guys,
Been lurking for a long while (a couple years at least) and I have to admit tougemonster's crash video My crash is what finally pushed me into signing up so I could post. I currently race in a Skip Barber Series F2000, and I'm doing some F2000 Championship testing with an eye towards doing the full Championship season next year. IMO, it seems like there are a lot of drag racers and street guys on the forum, but not too many guys who race on tracks as opposed to doing track days. Should be some interesting differences of opinion...

trust me 97, I will as soon as the season is over! Until then, I can't really indulge... Staying at 160lbs while keeping the muscle to monster these cars around for 30 laps at a time is tough, especially when you consider we don't have power brakes or steering...

Skip Barber, F2000 and Spec Racer Fords... All are somewhere around 1100 lbs with driver and fuel and have no power steering or brakes (and about 150 hp 4 cylinder engines). The Skip Barber races run fewer laps, but the talent of the other drivers is generally higher, whereas the F2000 and Spec Racer SCCA series run longer but I have more breathing space thanks to the lesser standard of the other drivers. All cars are mandated to be the same weight, so any difference in weight is in the drivers. We all know what added weight means in terms of lap time... That's pressure to be in shape as well as perform while on the track.
