I'm new...

Hey, longtime viewer, first time member. Guess I'll pretend I'm someone special and say a whole buncha stuff about myself.

I'm from Durham, NC(USA if you don't know...). I'm 18 years old. I love computers as well as computer gaming. I do some graphic design(http://sp3ak.tunkeymicket.com) and I run a movie site for Need For Speed:Underground(http://movies.nfsunlimited.net).

I guess what everyone really wants to know is what I drive. I'm going to have to let you all down when you realize that I drive a 1986 Volvo 240 DL Wagon. Yes wagon. http://sp3ak.tunkeymicket.com/cars/volvo/

I enjoy "racing" in general, I'm not much into cars though(which is funny because my dad is a mechanic), I like Supra's('93-98), 300zx's(Late 80's-90's model), and RX7's the most. I also love Volvo's. After owning one I have a new respect for them, it is an amazing handling car, it's actually not slow for it's age(2.4l 4cyl). I got my car for $150(USD) What a deal eh? I think so.

Uhh I guess you guys wanna hear something that'll give you a chuckle so... I posted on a forum about having ppl mod my car(a joke thread copying off of someone else). Anyways, I had them pick out rims and what not for the car and photochop them on there, one guy did the following picture: http://forum.nfsunlimited.net/files/volvotftf.jpg

Another funny thing: This past semester if my grades were good enough I could have gotten a turbo installed on my car. But they weren't. My dad said if I get my GPA up he would install a volvo turbo that he has. Maybe next semester lol!

Speaking of running 11's.... I doubt my car can! But my dad said I needed to get into bracket racing at a local track. He said all you do is try to get as close to your qualifying time every time. So it's not all about having the fastest time. I guess that's how it works anyways, he didn't explain it well. He said that there is a guy that wins all the time that runs in a VW Bus :P

yeah if u wanna race with skill braket racing is the way to go. u can put a 12 second car against a 9 second car and they have equal chance in winning..sorta

I would settle with just one of those Oh well, I'm very young and poor so I can barely afford my one car.

i have three cars because:
honda s2000 = uhh sunday driver err monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday and saturday too lately.
Grand cherokee = People hauler and more daily driver. semi more practical because i live in snowy area of minnesota so i drive this during the winter.
Honda Prelude = normal daily driver when i drove a jdm lude and im not quite as paranoid to park this car certain places in town.

Yeah well, that one day is progressing forward. I just went to my dads shop yesterday and spent the day taking the turbo and intercooler off of a Volvo 760 that had been abandoned by a customer(electrical fire appearntly?).

Anyways I guess that's one step closer

Well civic u got that about half way right Need to read a bit better though.

I have a 240 DL Wagon (auto), they never made those in turbo, and there were only a handful of 4 speed manuals. There was a Vovlo 760 Turbo that was more-less abandonded at my dads shop. He said he would put the turbo from that on my car, if my grades were good enough. Anyways stuff at the shop isn't going well so he is trying to clear out a buncha cars, this one can't be sold so it is going to the crusher sometime, I have til then to get whatever parts I want taken off. So far I have to turbo, intercooler, speedo cluster, and the front grill(cuz of the little "turbo" logo). My dad wants me to get the headers and the oil cooler off of it too.

So there ya go, nice little recap of everything

I'll try to keep updates posted, maybe in another thread with some pictures and what not. If all goes well it might be in by the end of the summer instead of waiting for me to have good grades which would be SWEEEET.

cool....still great though that your pops is doing that...makes you study harder lol...all my dad did was co sing for a laon (great man he is for the help) but i wish he'd give me a turbo lol..
