I think you'd have to say that Subaru has gone the wrong way by softening up and dumbing down the new WRXs. Even the new STI that Tiff Needell tested on this week's 5th gear wasn't as good as the old ones. I'm not trying to take anything away from the GTI, but when an AWD car with more power than an FWD car loses to the FWD it means that they screwed up somewhere in the design.
