AWD launches really aren't that violent, I'd say RWD launches tend to be the worse. You try and launch a AWD vehicle aggressively without knowing what your doing and you may as well just throw your drive train all over the ground, that's what's going to happen anyways. Most really high hp AWD cars use a twin (or more) disc clutch setup to allow for slip somewhere in the system and also are usually very anal about taking up all the slack in the drive train prior to launching for aforementioned reasons. If you want to see a violent launch look for the 8 sec twin turbo viper from gary whatever his name is... THAT is a violent launch.
