its not as easy, just to "add" a big turbo, big turbo dosent always mean fast, you might want to look into what you want a ask around before buying stuff first off i would say if you want big turbo, get rid of the 7 bolt in that 99 and get a early 90's engine then go from there, if you never tuned a turbo car ect then i would not buy it, unless you have money to pay someone to do it for you, www.dsmtalk.com www.dsmtuners.com ect ask around its alot more work and money then just throwing the "big" turbo on, who cares about lambo doors and stuff thats just me , "cold air intakes" its not a honda, intakes on turbo dsm's are proven not to do much, "stock" plastic with a filter is good enough , unless you want the "bling factor"

before you even look at a new turbo you need to completly upgrade your fuel system, via ecu piggy back's or standalone and deffintly hardware as in the pump, lines, regulator, injectors.

check the dsm sites...almost all will recommend a similar list of mods...

boost guage
manual boost controller
intake
new bov
turbo back exhaust
exhaust manifold
new o2 sensor
fuel pump
intercooler and intake piping

you really need to look up more info on GSXs before you start modding one, they snap like twigs.

Yep!!! Start collecting trannies. They puke trannies all the time. Even with no mods. Turn up the boost on the stock turbo and bolt on a set of slicks... There goes the tranny. They are notorious for it. Every DSM owner/racer I know keeps at least one spare to rotate when it explodes!

They make hardened parts for the trannies, but I dont know where to get them. DSM forum! After the tranny issues are resolved, they can be made VERY fast!

Its not the GSX, Its all of the eclipses! The GS may be ok because it doesn't have enough power to bust the tranny. Not joking on you. I'm sure if you modded it enough it would!

I'm sure the dude that now has three 240's is pretty tickled!

If you wanna be fast withing a budget i recommend you get a big 16g turbo kit, they sell a kit for your car because that stock 14b is doing you no good,Upgrade to evo injectors and bigger fuel pump.Get rid of your cat you dont want no backpressure on your turbo car,get bigger pipes, and just from that youll feel a big difference my friend Is currently building his 95 GST.So far whats hes got done is eagle rods,JE pistons, ported and polished head with 3 angle valve job, cams, cam gears,intercooler,650 cc injectors "i think",undedrive pullies,BOV,big 16g evo turbo all this done to a JDM eclipse block off an evo 3.He also has a greddy turbo timer,Boost Controller and will soon get an airflow converter.Ill let you know how the setup does on his stock tranny.Check out our site www.relentlessmethods.com as i will soon post up pics of his setup.

im not really sure about the whole tranny thing...as soon as i got my 2g dsm...i was on the dsm sites all day long...nobody ever mentioned anything about that

the first drivetrain thing that usually goes in a modded dsm is the stock clutch

im sure that if u dont try to lanch from a stop at 7000 rpm, the tranny should be ok

just in case u havent gone here yet...
dsmtuners
they have a good "newbie" forum..not a lot of flaming no matter how stupid the question
