Default Help-moms minivan had an engine problem...

today my mom came home and yelled at me to come outside. I went outside and saw her (2001 chrysler town and country) giving off smoke from the engine. I checked all the fluids and everything seems to be ok. BTW it is also raining/snowing heavily, maybe that matters i dont know. Anyways my dad thought it was something with the antifreeze, because it definetly smelled like there was something wrong with the antifreeze. Im not really that good with stuff under the engine but i went through a bunch of possiblites and i just thought i would ask you guys. Also, when i first looked at the car it appeared to be more of a steam looking smoke billowing from the hood.

I left the car off with the hood up for 1 hour and the smoke went away. I started and revved it and no more smoke.....

How long was she driving it for, and do you know how hard she drives, how many miles on the car?

Check the hoses, there could be a cracked hose, and anti-freeze could have leaked onto a hot part, making the steam. Ill check the TSB's for chrysler for you too.

This has happen to my dads Toyota Tocoma. Its the radiator. The reason it not overheating fast is because it mite be cool as hell where you live. But what I did is I left the truck on for about 30 min and see where the leak was coming from and I went to autoZone and just bought a radiator seal for about 3 bucks .
