I'm an autoshop student and im having a problem. me and supad0rk are trying to fix an 87 Honda Prelude SI. it has an erratic idle problem when cold. its not the ecu or the egr or the iacv(it makes a clicking sound when it goes up and down in RPMs). please help we've researched it for 3 days. we think it might be some kind of sensor. gracias

Sounds like you need to adjust the rockers.

Well if the rockers are off a few thousands when its cold itlll make a ticking noise. When the motor warms up the cam and rockers have fiction to make up for the thousands lost with oil pressure and heat. Just take a feeler gauge and check them. Never a bad idea just so you have the basics checked. If it still does it then you know its something else. As far as the idle bounce and you checked all the hoses. It could be a cloaged Cat, or bad throttle sensor. Not 100% without hearing it for myself.

As you guys know, i have a stock 91 accord. I was thinking about some new wheels and tires, what are some good compatible manufacturers? and what and how much would it cost me to some performance upgrades, such as new bilstein shocks and some springs, or would it be even worth it? Lots of questions and hopefully i'll get some good feed back, i want to hear your opinions! later,
91
