You cant get one from Motorex either. They are all but out of business. I am a member of the a skyline forum (because I have a skyline motor in my 240sx). Anyway several members on that forum have given motorex money, and motorex has the cars, but cannot complete the legalization. Read the full story here:
http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co.n...threadid=38686 You can buy a skyline that has already been legalized but it will have to have a FEDERAL VIN attached to the windsheild post. State issued VIN's are NOT legalized and are subject to confiscation. Florida, Washington and New York all seen to be very easy to get state VIN's issued. Most bogus skylines seen to come from these states. Especially FL. The DOT will track those cars down, confiscate them, fine you and turn you over to Customs and EPA for further prosecution. Just buy a 240sx andf put the engine in it. We buy SKylline clips and transplant the engines to 240's. Under the skin they are almost identical. The suspensions use the SAME parts and despite what that many people thing they are larger cars. They are NOT. Buy a 89-94 240sx coupe, put a widebody kit on it and RB20DET in it... walaah!!! your own little LEGAL Skyline. And before someone busts in about the AL wheel drive... R32 GTS-T's are RWD. Just my 15cents ![]() |

if u find a skyline for 8 g's you probly arent getting a skyline. our shop has worked with motorex and they are the solo importer of these cars. if you call them and they cannot track your skyline i would be beware of the car just because then it may have gone to a different country and it might not be safe.
uhhh plan on spending a lot of money if u want any kind of skyline they are the real super car remember that ![]()

Seems like you should have done your homework before you bought a car
![]() Based on what I've seen is I would go through motorex... You could always get a skyline from canada right? Also you could check ebay, sometimes they turn up. I saw a sweet one that was for sale in new york city for around $20k. Good luck ![]()

Many/most skylines are 4 door non tubo family sedans. You just dont hear about them because thy arent cool Kinda like how most Mustangs are ho hum V-6's. But they dont get any attention either. AND NO ONE READ MY ABOVE POST!!! MOTOREX IS ABOUT TO GO UNDER!!! THE LAWYERS ARE ALREADY FEEDING ON THEM. READ HERE: http://forums.skylinesdownunder.co....&threadid=38686 |

The truth of the matter is that I have been working on the legalization of the cars though G & K for over the last year.(October 2003) The DOT has thrown up numerous obstacles along the way. I took my knowledge, did the DOT mods on the car and submitted the package to the DOT. The same people that were at the DOT when I was working for Motorex are no longer there. November they were supposed to be submitting a report to their supervisors. I think they have some issues with the proprietry information, and a couple other things. I have pictures and information from the many of the cars that were legalized recently by Motorex. The DOT is hung up on a couple of issues. I have gone as far as had engineering data done on a few items that have changed from the inital crash testing. I even flew over to the DOT and had a meeting with George Stevens and Vincent DiLeonardi. I always said, when JK did the inital package for Motorex, it made it nearly impossible for someone to simply reverse engineer a car. Things are worded in a way, that if you are not Motorex, its nearly impossible for someone to legalize a car. Big safety issues. Right about now I have been waiting for about 6 weeks on at least some kind of response back from the DOT. Either yea or nay. Either way, I can get back to it, work it out, and get 1995 dual airbag R33's legal. Thats the first goal. After that, the other issues will be worked on. It was not something I ever wanted to do. However, after all of RB's problems with Motorex, and the other 20 or so people with problems with them, I felt a need to take some kind of action. Most of the owners with issues know I have been working on it. A few others I have told, but this is the first time I am telling it publicly. Motorex has about 40 cars here in the US that are not completed. That has been my guess for a while. They owe hundreds of thousands of dollars. They are getting sued by numerous people. They do not have a relationship with anyone to do EPA and California work. The guy they had contracted to do EPA work after G & K stopped doing work for them - Graycar - pled guilty to defrauding the government and faces 7 years - $500,000 fine. Motorex owes G & K(EPA and California testing lab) money and like most people Hiro doesnt maintain contact with them, so they dont want to deal with him any more. -------------------- Sean Morris http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...umber=67900300 this link will link you to someone that is directly part of motorex or something

I was trying to post up the thread from Skylines Down Under forums about Motorex problems. Dunno what is wrong with the link. Anyway, thanks for helping explain. I was just trying to keep someone from buying a "Legalized" Skyline that would later be confiscated.
