Default ECV's suck

Not sure who all, if any, uses or has been thinking about picking up an ECV(Exhaust Control Valve) but don't do it unless your car is completely tuned right. Now to my story:

Two weeks ago one of my guys from my team went and bought a ECV due to him getting complaints around his area where he lives. Well this weekend we were supposed to go to a course to practice drifting at. We all met up at 10 to roll out together. Well when I showed up they were telling me that the car wouldn't start. I figured that the car had flooded (something that has happened before) so I pulled the EGI pump relay (fuel pump) to start up the car and burn up all the fuel in the cylinders. Well I did that a couple times and then pulled the spark plugs to clean them up due to them being fouled. Well it kept doing this for a while it would start up and then about 2 to 3 mins later it would die. Well I came to find out that the ECV henges were clogged so it was keeping the ECV from opening and closing all the way, which was bogging the engine down with too much back pressure. Pulled the ECV and it was running better but not perfect. The guy that owns the car now is smelling fuel in the oil, so I am to the point of thinking that the piston rings are worn down and allowing fuel to release in to the oil pan.

So just for FYI and IMO I do not recomend getting an ECV unless your car is running perfect. If there are any questions about the ECV feel free to ask.
