What does it matter if something comes in AWD or not?
You can go plenty fast in a track application on a front rear, or all wheel drive platform. If you mean ACTUAL HARD track use, like road course, then you're not going to take much of any stock car out there. Fluid will boil, pads will burn, and rotors will warp, on ANY stock Jetta/Golf/R32, don't matter. VW doesn't make a car in the US that I know of which comes factory with equipment that will really hold up to a track beating. Don't forget that any responsible owner running their car at the track will run full synthetic ~40-50W oil (redline makes an excellent oil for it) and change their pads and front rotors before and after every event, generally speaking. Vipers, Corvettes, EVOs, STi's... these cars are about the only ones that will take track use out of the box.
