hey guys its me again I wanted to know which car is fast and a good drifter (not too expensive
) I been looking at rx7s, 240 sx, 300zx, toyota supra, and celica. If you guys know a better car than those to start drifting that its affordable please tell me. Also where is a good place to start drifting (other than a parking lot b/c i already have a ticket and i dont want to get my license taken away)oh and also can you tell me the differences between the rx7, 240 sx, 300zx, toyota supra, and celica |

if you gotta ask stick to gran turismo, your gonna f*#k yourself or some innocent motorist up, oh and be prepared to get alot of tickets
go for the rx7, 240sx, or ae86 aka corolla GTS differences, rx7s are rotarys, very good weight distribution (this is what i have) 240s also have good weight distribution, but in the US are not turbocharged from the factory depending on the year 300zxs and supras are really expensive and heavy and celicas are FWD (no fun) |

I use a 93 240sx with an RB20DET froma Skyline GTS-T.
JIC Magic coilovers and 16x7 front/16x8 rears shod with Falken tires. Much more but thats the basics. My group also has 2 S13 240sx's with Turboed KA24's 1 S13 with CA18DET 2 S13 with Stockish KA's (filters and exhausts) |

go and test drive all the drift car before you choose one that way you dont have to ask question like that ,but for my opinion anything cheap would be fine. dont spend the cash when you know you going to total it. my first 240 cost me 1800cdn and it got total.

a while front clip JDM exhaust HKS 200mm filter HKS Idle stabilizer Bee-R blow off valve (VERY expensive) HKS Boost controller Apexi SAFC When I was running the motor with just the exhaust and filter I beat 2 of them easily. After the boost controller and Safc, I beat another SR with similar mods. Two of those guys are selling their SR's now to get an RB The best part is that SCREAMING straight six sound! Its hard to pick a fight when uit sounds like that, except all the idiots with mustangs that think no import can beat them. I've also beat a supercharged Saleen. I've run 13.73 @104 spinning though 1st and second gears. |

Also if you do the install correctly and get the motor mounts (they are worth the price) the install is easier than the SR
The only SR that has beat me is a Bluebird motor running Standalone managment and 14psi in a old sty;e B13 Sentra... He pulled me fairly easily in fourth gear. He spins too much tho race in any lower gears Is a hoot to drive though!!! |

Thanks guys for the help but since for a while the site was down I couldnt really read the replies. During that time I eliminated a couple of options and was left with the 300zx turbo 1990 or above, or the rx7 turbo 1990 or above. Which one do you guys think is better I read in another post that the 300s were heavy so that kind of threw me off cuz i want to tune it up and take it to the track (or weekends
). And the rx7 looks really good with a body kit, but some people have told me that you cant do too much to the engine, because they are rotary |

Rotaries make amazing amounts of power for their size. But with big power in small engines comes quick wear. Rotaries wear out really fast and need frequent rebuilds.
As vice pres. for the local Nissan club, I can speak personally on 300ZX's. We have several, one of them our shop demo car. The are NOT the way to go for someone on a budget. They are VERY hard to work on and the parts are expensive. Like the old saying goes: "Anyone can afford to buy an old Porsche, Few afford to own one". Anything you buy to increase the horsepower, you have to buy two of them. 2 turboes, 2 manifolds, twin induction, twin exhaust, 4 cams, 2 metal headgaskets, My best friend's Z (our demo car) has about $30,000 worth of stuff in it. It's VERY fast and decently driftable, but he bought 2 240sx's to drift in! I would go 240 or FC, maybe FD RX-7. I would go FC on the RX-7 though. If you drift, you WILL wreck, and they are much cheaper to fix or REPLACE! |

300ZX's are nice cars for drifting, my friend has a '90 300ZX w/ a 5-speed. But as nismoron parts are expensive! Although I don't find them hard to work on (my friend loves cars, and racing but has no knowlege of modding). I have done all the maintnence and mods to his car over the last year (just a few mods). Other then being cramped they arn't bad to work on (I just wouldent want to buy parts for).
