Default Really Really Really Insanely Fast Cars

Guys, guys.......what's with all the pessimism and doubt?! I am the guy with the truck, vette and jeep, and let me tell you that they run 5 sec, 4sec, and 3sec respectively. I have a John Deere tractor that runs 6 seconds in the 1/4, and a bulldozer that just broke into the 7s! How might all this performance be possible, you ask?! Well my sole sponsor is GE turbines. That's right, I strap a 15,000lbs-of-thrust rocket/turbine onto each one of my babies!! Top Fuel dragsters, eat your hearts out!!
Now on a serious note, I think that menschmachine might be toyin with us a little to see what kind of responses might arise of his roomate's father's friend's ludicrous claims. Either that or you've gotta be a complete knucklehead to run to a forum in order to ask people if this is possible. Oh, and vette 7t9, I hope you were kidding about this being possible. A Jeep that runs 3s?!! Come on, you've gotta be spun out of your mind on a month-long crack binge to even acknowledge a slight chance of this being possible. Here's the answer to your question: NO WAY, not in this dimension at least. Maybe your buddy's dad's friend has some alien propulsion technology that he's keeping a secret from the rest of us. Not even in the 1/8 mile would any of this be possible (keep in mind that mensch said the guy's not rich). Sure, with a boatload of cash you can get the vette to do 4 seconds, in the 1/8th. There's a video in the GM section of a drag vette (with wheelie bar, and a pair of huge turbos that sound like a Jetliner preparing for takeoff) blowin through the 1/8th with a mid 4 sec. run. I'm willing to bet quite a ridiculous amount of cash (equivalent to the cost of the crack that these people are smoking) that I won't be seeing a Jeep run a 3 second 1/4 mile in my lifetime. So, NO, NO, and NO to those questions , lose that roomate and start hanging out with sane people that live on planet Earth.

Thumbs down

I was thinking that it could be possible if you had misunderstood him and thought he ment the 1/8 but then you went and said 3 sec Jeep so no i don't believe it lol. I highly doubt that it can even do 4 or 5 sec in the 1/8 that is crazy fast itself.

I agree with 24VR666

In the 1/4 mile no not possible (have seen some 8 and 9 sec trucks in the 1/4 but they were striped down and not street legal).

As for the suspnsion issue about the wheelie bars. It is possible if you have a 4 link rear suspenion and propper tuning techniques you don't need wheelie bars.

I have seen a '90 Benz Limo run 4's in the 1/4, granted it was a Jet limo.

There is a pro street S10 pickup out here in NJ, it is a complete monster of a car, its a single turbo big block, I watched him run in the mid 6s with it too, it was on a regualr test and tune night too, but let me tell you the entire place was going crazy and on there feet to see that 1.

Usually for test and tune they always stage you up against another car no matter what the difference in 1/4 times are, but for this guy he ran by himself, he was a definate pro but that is crazy for a pick up, it was not a fiberglass shell either.

But other then that you friend is a total jerk, kids will say anything without thinking first, I actually got into a conversation with a 18 year old kid who was trying to tell me that a STOCK SRT-10 viper truck runs 9s in the 1/4 mile.

I just walked away from that conversation, its not worth trying to explain his ignorance.

I'm not sure if you read the whole post......the guy said that the mystery man is not rich, so he probably doesn't have his money invested in much (especially his cars), so NO, it is not possible. Can we just accept that?! Get over it, it's not possible (if you don't have the cash and have no sponsors), I don't care what you heard about some special/magical truck, end of story!! ****!!
