My steering wheel squeaks on my 01 Audi a4 only when i turn it to the right. I'm pretty sure it isn't the power steering fluid because it can only be heard from within the car. It sounds as if it is coming right from the steering column and directly behind the wheel. WD 40 has not worked. Anyone know what it could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

WD40 is water based. It just adds to the annoyance later on
Use some grease. Gasoline works well too, Solve the entire problem. If you answer back then you are not SPAM. Last edited by American Psycho; 24 Sep 2009 at 10:20 pm. |

all the squeaks ive heard of in most cases have come from the bushings in the steering colum under the plastic panels. some cars are different, but pull the plastic paneling under the steering column off and see if where the squeak is coming from. should be easy enough to pinpoint. then as psycho said use some grease. i sometimes use white lithium spray.
