no reverse

i have 1991 camry alltrac automatic and it doesnt go in reverse or neutral
but it goes good in drive and changes to all the gears. also when in park if you gas it it goes forward samething with neutral but in reverse it just drops in RPM like its tring but there is no movement?

did u try taking it to a toyota dealer? They will tell you something about your reverse gear (the gear in the transmission) being stripped. Or your just an idiot and ran out of automatic transmission fluid

Hmmm I think your gearbox (what ever you call it, I know nothing about cars) is broken. My dad's automatic Toyota Half-ton pick up truck's gearbox broke like 5 months ago, the car can only go backward but not forward. I am not sure if this is your case though. If it is broken, you should get a new car since rebuilding that thing or whatever cost you a lot. Or you can order a used gearbox which is a lot cheaper.

I know a metric assload about cars, and won't touch auto trannies.

The shits broke. Buy a new one. If you have to ask whats wrong, then you probably don't have the technical knowledge to fix it.

i am not sure but my del sol had the some problem and i was just a dumdass and ran low on auto tranny fluid then i switched to royal purple and love it
