The wheel cylinder is easy to change and cheap.
I am assuming you have no drum brake tools. just use some pliers and a flathead screwdriver for leverage for the springs. It's straight forward, if you get lost, cheat and look at the other side. Don't forget to bleed the brakes. |

Ok i get it, try braking the car as it is, pump the brakes several times(as you do the pads will move to the outside) re graduate the E brake and engage/re engage it several times too. The little taps are in the metal part under the new pad must be sitting, and make sure that it is well assembled copy/paste the other side lol
Edit:The E brake has a metal cord that engages the braking in the drums, that cord could be broken or stuck in some place, in that case you must unstuck it with the little taps.

your e break cable is seized, cut the son of a b!tch off. the shoes will go back to where they should be,if you have a wire wheel on a grinder, preferably a bench grinder clean the sh!t out of the adjuster, and lube it like a virgin twat, close the adjuster all the way closed, then slip the drum on, the drum will turn freely, tighten the adjuster till you feel the pads touching the drum. just make sure you got all the springs in the right place.
if you have not gotten the wheel cylinder off yet(if you have not and your putting it back together your a fool) here is a trick, HEAT THE **** OUT OUT OF THE LINE, the odds are you might need to use vise grips on the line if it is too rusted. once you get the line to move just the slightest bit stop with the line, unbolt the wheel cylinder from the backing plate and pull gently towards you and spin the wheel cylinder off the line, if the line is seized in the fitting you will crack the line and then your doing break lines on the rear end, also to help with the bleeding put a small pair of vise grips on the rubber part of the line above the diff to stop fluid flow. sorry i didn't see this thread before. |

thanks rico, i replaced the wheel cylinder already. still gota blead it though jus waiting to get the ****ing shoes lined up lol. one shoe sits right the other side wnt unles u push it in place then it jus goes back up when u let go. where do i cut the ebrake line/ there no where to disconnect it from the hub. the top of the cable seems to have tension but once it goes through what almost looks like a box the ebrake doesnt do shit to it. anywhere i can cut it so fixing its easy?

you will have to change the cables, cut them where they connect to the arm on the shoe. you will have to rip them out from the diff to the splitter in the trans tunnel.
