Engine?

I want to drop a new engine in my 77 F-150, but I don't know which.
Either a new Modular SVT 5.4L or a modest Modular Hot Rod 4.6L. Or just a stock 5.4L.

If you can afford it I'd go with the SVT 5.4, they make awesome power with a good blower.

Heres a new 03/04 longblock for $7,400, I would think you could build a motor that would take the same abuse for a good bit cheaper.

holy shit dude u could buy a dart block and build it up nasty and it wil handle more power than that and wil proly come out cheaper hahaha. 1500hp ftw. but for real figure out what your power goals are and go from there. no resion to have more engine than your using

I have the truck in Mexico being use as a work truck. It's been in the family since 1990. I want to bring back over to the U.S. and fix it; not to restore it, but to keep it up to date.
