Default Squeaky Brakes while driving

98 Cherokee, frt disc brkes are squeaky while driving, untill you apply the brake pedal then the are silent, release the pedal they squeak again, brakes are less than 2 months old, any way to shut um up

cheap pads, beat the shit out of them, if they don't get better get used to it or buy better pads.

did anyone else think that while not under braking they should be in contact with the rotor? or am I the only logical thinking one here?

assuming you dont have race pads that squeal no matter what you do, did you put anti squeal compound before you installed the pads? it can dampen the vibrations that cause squealing. its a bluish looking liquid that you apply the the back of the pad where it contacts the piston. ($5)

When you put the new pads on, make sure you go someplace where you can break em in. Me, I like a nice empty parking lot. I gun it up to 50mph, jam on the brakes till I almost come to a stop, let off, turn around, repeat 10-20 times or until I become nauseated.

i do the break in a little different, i do a few fast stops let cool, hold them till they smoke let them cool while driving around, few more fast stops then enjoy.never have i had a problem.

they could be warped if your getting a squeak every time the wheel turns

i also agree to that.. unless the caliper themselves are rusted and woren to the point were it is hard for them to move
