Default Tomtom measuring performance?

I know that Car & Driver and a lot of other car journalists use GPS based stuff to measure the performance of cars, and my girlfriend just got a tomtom. Is there any way to use the tomtom to measure things like 0-60 or 1/4 miles times or top speed?

I don't believe so. I think the way most of the consumer ones operate are they get updated every second or so but I don't know if it saves that data. But that would still only tell you the approximate time you hit 60 etc.

They do have smaller units that you can buy that allow you to measure those sort of things though.

I'll do some checking but I know one of the magazines (Car & Driver, Motor Trend etc.) did a test on some cheap ones and compared them to their own. A few were actually quite accurate.

I remember that test now too, I do plan on using the tomtom to figure out if my speedo is as wrong as vwvortex says it is.

Yeah, it will give you an accurate current speed reading but not how long it takes to get to that speed.
