Well, when all out drag cars consistantly run those 2 oils and they are hard as hell to get your hands on, and I have read in drag mags that the top teams in the nation run them, then they are the best for the buck......just not my buck. lol My motor would puke if I actaully put something that fancy into it. lol

Just because they are the best for all out drag cars doesn't mean they are the best for street cars. I would like oil that I don't have to change after 6 seconds lol.

I'm not talking top fuel guys, just 7-8 sec all out drag cars, in fact I think that the top fuel car don't even use oil.
The cars I speak of make repeated 7-8 sec 1/4 mile passes, no tranny/engine/rear swaps between races.....just all out fast as shit all night long, go home, put the car away till next time.

It says so, up to 4500-5000 miles, but even when I used extended life oils I still changed at 3000 miles because I don't trust that shit.

It's all in the driver paying attention. I know people who go 10k miles without changing their oil and still after 100K+ they haven't had a single problem.

If you are serious about oil and dont want to rely on rules of thumb like "3000 miles", spend 20 and get your oil analyzed at a place like blackstone labs. They will be able to tell you what kind of wear your engine is seeing and you can determine what is the appropriate drain interval for the oil you are using based on YOUR car and on YOUR driving style.

top fuel cars do use oil (SAE 70 weight!)... just no coolant.

^ LOL, my bad, I knew they went without something.....coolant,huh? I would have thought at such violent acceleration that the oiling system would have very bad sloshing issues and the pick up tube would not be able to suck oil at the type of G force acceleration, much less a dry sump system.....still would be hard to pick up and pump that shit IMO.

They address it by running really high capacity pans (16 qts) and high oil pressure (160 psi+)

Oh, ok....I was thinking that maybe they ran the pump at the rear of the motor so that the forward motion and rapid takeoff would push the oil to the pump for easy feeding to help prevent oil starvation. That oil pressure is crazy, I wanna see that oil pump.
