Castrol is something I'm not convinced about as an engine oil. My mate was running it (Castrol Magnatec?) in his R33 Gtst and was getting a top end rattle on start up/ cold running. Changed to Motul (lot more $) and it has completely disappeared. And yes both oils are the same weight or very similar.
I couldn't say what Castrol we get here in Australia. Only Castrol I use is TTS-synthetic 2 stroke mix for my dirtbike.

Castrol makes a variety of grades depending on what specifications it must meet in a given market. The only castrol I would run in a performance car is the one made in Germany that is made to meet stringint european car manufacturers standards ("European ACEA: A3, B3, B4; VW 502 00, 505 00, 503 01; MB 229.1, 229.3, 229.5; BMW LL-01; GM-LL-A-025, GM-LL-B-025"
) The non-german syntec is just hydrocracked base stock (i.e. not a "true" synthetic) Quote:

amsoil is sold through private dealers, from what I have seen. There is a tuner shop near me that sells it, but at $8 per quart, you can keep that shit.
If I hade the money, I would just buy several cases of Redline oil, or Lucas race blend oil. Those ARE the 2 best there is.
