i have another question:
is it bad to shift from any gear into neutral without pressing the clutch? I ask because I cruise a lot when coming to a stop sign or red light and put it in neutral a good distance back.

If i remember correctly a car magazine had gone through and answered the question about using no clutch a long time ago. They said as long as you aren't grinding it and you give it a little gas so it comes out of gear easier it won't hurt it.
