Default Rivet in Steering wheel..

hey guys just starting to work on my truck and i got a couple free steering wheels from my work and i wanted to take the old stock one off ...
it's a GMC 1981 long box with the up and down steering wheel(you can movie it up and down)
i know it seems easy for you guys but this rivet wont come out and i'm sure one of you has a easy way...
thanks for all your help i'll probably come back for more help once i start the body/engine/interior work.

one great trick for rivets is taking a drill bit a tiny bit larger than the rivet hole and drilling it through, it'll become so thin you'll be able to easily pull em out with long nose pliars or a vice grip, you can always get a little bit leverage with a flathead screwdriver

Yeah, that works pretty well.

Another trick is to use a paint scraper and get it under the lip of the rivet and hit it with a hammer. That will pop the top right off.

um i have never had to remove revits when taking off a steering wheel, and i have removed a few in my time. it's just the big main nut in the center and a puller or a hammer if you don't care much.

please explain better.

the main nut is gone, all you need is a puller, rivets have nothing to do with it being stuck on.

yes, beat it with a hammer if you don't care abput the old wheel, hit form one side to the next, but you might still need a puller if it is on that bad.
