Well im building a type R motor and i wana turbo it so i need low compression pistons but i went on JE pistons website and i dont know how to determine if there low compression or not can someone help me or can i still use the stock pistons? and if i can use the stock ones whats safe max amount of boost

the best compression ratio is 8.5 to 1 for gsr and type r.

Watch for block flex at high rpm and boosted engines. B series cylinder walls are not solid they are surrounded by a water jacket. Check into sleeves if that was not already in your plans. As far as compression ratio, you need information such as turbine size, cylinder head flow, camshaft lift and duration, boost pressures you want to run etc. Companies such as JE and Wiseco have tech hotlines that can help you with this situation. Don't just throw in 8.5:1 pistons when 9.5:1 may give you more power at lower boost levels
