Default Engine Designations?

So I was wondering who wants to put all of the engine designations,

ex: RB26DET/T, KA20DET, and etc.

into a thread and get everyone to put in what the letters numbers mean for each porpular each engine type, RB, KA, Tsi, Si, S, etc.

#1 RULE

1.Try not to talk to much and instead just put deffinitions and examples.

Heres some for a start:

popular in the aftermarket because of its very potent turbocharged inline 4 cylinder engine, codenamed 4G63, which is usually combined with an all-wheel drive (AWD) powertrain. The 4G63 engine is also used in the Mitsubishi Evolution.

"1G" for short. However, there were two 1g styles. The "1ga" models, mid-1989 through 4/1992, featured pop-up, or flip-up lights while the post 5/1992, or "1gb" models featured composite style headlights with integrated turn signals.

Default Nissan Skyline

SOHC/DOHC/OHC:

See link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOHC

DET/T:

In common with all Nissan engines, D indicates DOHC, E indicates EFI, T indicates Turbo. The two digit number indicates the capacity:

20 - 2.0 L (1998 cc, bore: 78.0 mm, stroke: 69.7 mm)
24 - 2.4 L (2406 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 69.7 mm)
25 - 2.5 L (2498 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 71.7 mm)
26 - 2.6 L (2568 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 73.7 mm)
30 - 3.0 L (2982 cc, bore: 86.0 mm, stroke: 85.0 mm)

RB26DETT Z2:

This is the engine used in the Nissan Skyline Z-Tune. It is basically the RB26 block, modified with Nismo parts, and stroked to 2.8 L. The end result was the RB26 Z2, which puts out 500 hp and 550 N·m of torque. They originally aimed for 630 hp, but the engine had to be de-tuned after problems were encountered with high emission values.

RB-X GT2:

The RB-X GT2 (also called REINIK) is an engine specially made for the Nismo 400R. The difference between this engine and a RB26DETT is the engine is bored to 2771 cc which gives out 450 PS (331 kW) at 6800 rpm and 47.8 kgf·m (469 N·m or 347 lbf·ft) at 4400 rpm. This engine comes with a reinforced cylinder block and cylinder head, metal head gasket, pistons with cooling channels, forged crank shaft, forged connecting rods, N1 turbine with reinforced actuator, high flow air cleaner, stainless down pipe, and low air resistance sport catalizer, most of which were not offered for the RB26DETT.

Limited slip differential:

simple;
In automotive applications, a limited slip differential (LSD) is a modified or derived type of differential gear arrangement that allows for some difference in rotational velocity of the output shafts, but does not allow the difference in speed to increase beyond a preset amount. In an automobile, such limited slip differentials are sometimes used in place of a standard differential, where they convey certain dynamic advantages, at the expense of greater complexity.

N-VCT:

Nissan Variable Cam Timing (commonly known as N-VCT, VCT or NVCS) is an automobile variable valve timing technology developed by Nissan. N-VCT was first introduced in 1987 on the VG30DE engine. N-VCT varies the timing of the valves by rotating the cam shaft(s), valve lift and duration are NOT altered. The system is implemented with an electric solenoid which is controlled by the cars ECU. Some Nissan engines only have N-VCT on the inlet cam (such as the RB25DE/DET) while others have it on both the inlet and exhaust cams.

Nissan Skyline was the basis and to further your knowledge:
