Is it possible to change an avi file to an mpeg file?

yeah, you might want to try this . I have never used it but I have heard it's okay. Lemme look for a free way, even though that has a free 15 day trial.

Convert .avi or .asf or divx .avi files .. alomst any file type can be converted into an MPEG or MPG for a Video CD or SuperVideo CD
