Hey Guys Im New To This Site. Nice To Meet You All. Anyways, A Month Ago I Test Drove A Subaru Wrx Sti 2005. Love These Cars. It Was Very Fast. My Question Is Do These Cars Really Do Low 13's At Quarter Miles. From Videos Ive Seen They Do 13's Really Easily. So I Will Be Buying A Sti Really Soon Hopefully(saved My Money And Ready). So Please Will I Be Wasting My Money Or Will It Be Worth It For A 13's Second Car(stock 300 Hp 300 Torque).
I Have Been Racing For A While Now. I Had And 93 Rx7 And 91 300zx Tt. Sold Them Both For A Sooby. Please I Will Take Any Advices. Sorry If Post Is Too Long :d |

if ya want a drag car go buy some mucle car or a honda..if ya want a car that is the best all around in handling and a all out track car buy the sti,but don't buy it just wanting something fast to drag because that's the total opposite of what the sti was designed for..the evo is a pretty nice car , but I'm partial to subes..hope you lean towards the scoob and join the family.

If you do get yourself an STi, you really need to get out there and try some different kinds of racing. Do an autocross, or a track day at a roadcourse. Or better yet, a Rally! (if you can afford new paint )My last car was a modded WRX, and I loved it. It was quick on the street, it was a MONSTER in the dirt, and a snowmobile in the snow. It was like having two cars, a sports car and an lowered 4X4. These cars are incredible on dirt. You can pretty much be a total idiot, and still drive a WRX well on a dirt road. Amazing.

There is no denying that the STi offers much more than drag racing. However, if the car does 13.3 stock (what I've personally seen) then it does 13.3 stock. You'd be able to rattle off maybe 2 or 3 cars within a common person's price range that could beat that. If that's what a prospective buyer wants out of his car, and he decides to do it in an STi, then that would be his prerogative.
However, like stated above, the STi is an awesome car for expanding one's horizons. AutoX, trackdays, road racing, rallyX, rallying, hill climbing... Shoot, even stock car racing or tractor pulls. ![]() You can do anything you want in any car you want. It just deepends on how deep or shallow the pockets (or creditors) are. |
