Default daily driver into project?

alright, I have a 93 Nissan 240SX. This car has been my daily driver for about a year. On the driver side frame rail toward the rear, it has basically collapsed. I can't put a jack on it as it will just squash the frame even more.

Is it even worth tuning? I have no problem with it staying my daily driver so just give me your opinions.

Thanks.

anything is possible,

1. is it worth your time?
2. worth the headaches?
3. in your budget ( if you have one )
4. Daily drive it until its dead
5. Sell it and buy a Mustang

There isnt a reasonable answer: whatever suits you best

Mustang??? Why would you do that?

I beat up on them all the time in my 240. I even beat one of the supercharged saleens...S281 is that the name? The night I beat it I looked at it on Saleens web site and it was $65,000... Ouch!

What kind of budget do you have. It may be easier to get another 240. We buy nice ones with bad motors for $100-$500 all the time, maybe up to $750 for a twin cam.

Use that one as a driver and get another to mod, especially if you are going to do a motor swap. They always take longer than you expect because of some $5 part you cant find and have to order and wait!

Cant you do those silvia engine swaps on those imports? SD13DES or someshit lol (i really have no clue)

I heard good things about the swaps with turbo upgrades, shouldnt be hard to find one for less them 2k.

I kind of want a little project car like that, but im thinking more along the lines of actually importing a car. The 20k+ fee sucks though

The list of exterior and interior mods is endless for these cars. As for the engine, you can...

KA24 N/A with mods like header, etc.
KA24 Turbo
RB20DET Skyline motor
RB25DET Skyline motor... difficcult fit due to large tranny
SR20DET (several to choose from)
VG30DE from 300zx... friend is doing one now
Hell theres one here in AL that has a 305 or 350 in it too... but he only runs 15's dunno whats wrong with it.

I know everything I can do to it, but because that one part of the frame is bad, would the car even hold up?

I'd like to swap an S14 Blacktop SR20, either Infiniti J20 or 300ZX diff, 300ZX brakes with 5-lug, Volk TE37's, Yokohama Parada Spec 2's, unorthodox pulleys, hks fmic, eagle pistons (maybe forged rods and crank, I know the KA24 has both, but I don't know about the SR20), and Tein luxury master coilover.

Thats about all I can think of off the top of my head. I'd really like to do this but I just want to know if building my car with that type of problem is worth it or even safe.

you could try to sell yours, or trade for another one

im sure you can find one from 1k to about 3k (goodproject one) then do a swap for a few extra thousand.

Thanks.

It all depends...is this issue before the therear wheel then ...well dude...just drive er til she collapses (well, er, you know what I mean)...if the problem is behind the rear wheel then it is well worth it.
