Default My Headlights Playing up!!! grrrrrrr

ok last night as i was driving, i notice my headlights were playing up like flashing off and on like it has a mine of its own! so i go to check the bulbs and noticed the bulb and plug and a metal peice that holds the buld were hot? and it seems if it touches metal parts it lights up?? any ideas what causes this?

sorry mate its a r33 skyline gtst.. and now my headlights wont work, and i cant drive at night, bulbs seem to look alright, i even replaced it with other bulbs and same problem

maybe a loose earth somewhere i would guess. check the switch as well in the car.
