nutting a mercedes 2 or 3 inch drop?

Im thinkin of lowering my c class mercedes. I wanted to know that if i slam it what would be the best way to go. and what parts would I need to buy just so that I keep the tires and suspension as good as possible? as it is already sitting on sum 18 inch milanos with 225/40/18 tires.
