So, my car is possesed! 2 crash and a blown engine in 1 month, now ill race a camaro!

ok, so i feel like ive just had the worst luck with my car recently.

about a month ago i get rear ended leaving school, only cosmetic, about $500 in paint shit.

then two weeks later, im in the local gym and this guy apparently thinks its cool to burnout in reverse, so he did and didnt stop in time, t-boning my car at 20 mph in reverse. that cost about $1800 to fix.

THE WORST, thats happend was before this my mom drove it for about a month so i hadnt seen the s2k in about a month and a half.

So i get it back and the 2nd day i have it it starts making some dirty noises.
So, i check abunch of stuff including the oil, AND THERE WAS NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have no idea how this couldve happend, i had filled it a month ago and its bone dry.

anyways so i immeadiatly go to mobile and put like 4 quarts in. it does NOTHING!

on the way home, i make it onto my street and then the noise gets real bad so i stop put it in neutral and then, it started idling really low and then it just croaked.

So they tore the engine apart and its totally blown, but what is weird is they said first that it was overreved and warrenty would not cover it. so im about to kill myself cause a new F20C is about $8000. But then, after reviewing it they determine something was wrong with the oil pump which caused a built up of oil.

I dont really understand it but all i know is that its covered under warrenty now!!





Ok, so im looking at about 3 weeks till a new engine. But the real reason for this post is not actually for the fuked car, its because when i get it back this kid wants to race me and i need your opinion first.

so this kid has a 93 Z28 Camaro, automatic, for mods it has Hooker exhaust and a fabricated cut out system infront of the cat.

So, im trying to figure out if i stand a chance against him, i would think if he were stock it would be real close but with the mods.... i know i would get him off the line until about 1/2 way through 2nd gear.

gimme your opinion.

I don't know how fast the S2000 is, but I would guess that you could win against the camaro because it's an auto.

My guess is even auto LT-1 will own the S2000 , it ran mid-high 13's stock back in 93.

Also your engine is brand new, you still have that break in process....engine aint gonna be that strong till after about 1k miles...

The torque arm rear suspension in the 4th gen Camaro doesn't hook very well unless it's been upgraded. Not to mention the suspension is sixteen years old. So I would guess the S2k has the advantage once the new engine is broken in.

the TQ arm been around since 1982.

well, i just remembered that i have to break it in for at least 600-800 miles, so after that we would do it.

i believe that i would take him from a stop and he would catch me at about my 3 rd gear so about 70 mph. i know i would kill him off the line though, and i think i would get killed on the highway.

hmm wouldnt it be the other way around, he got way more torque to take you off the line. u have nothing until bout 6000rpm, you should stand a better chamce up top when your vtakk is VROOOMENNN!!

you would get stomped by a bone stock LT1.

The S2k is so much nicer though.

1993 Camaro Z28- 5.8
2002 Honda S2000 -5.5

yeah but he is so confident that he will kill me in a strait line i really want to do this.

btw ive confirmed he has this fabricated cut out thin that opens a whole infront of the cats to a seperate side exhaust, i dont know how much that improves performance but its pretty much the only mod.

i really think if i nail the vtec lauch at about 6300 rpms, and the tires are warm ill get em. he will catch me by like 3rd gear though.
