I just bought a 95 talon tsi awd from eBay and trusted the seller because he has been on for 5 years, and had a pretty good rating, and buyer protection. But here is what I just sent the SquareTrade dispute console..."When the vehicle is started the check engine light comes on and does not go off. The shipper that delivered the car told us that upon inspection the car has a bent frame, from either hitting a curb, and being in an accident with another car. The weather stripping on the outside of the car is peeling and chipping off, and there are multiple dents and cracks on the exterior. When the car is put into gear it shakes. It has to be forced into gear. It does have rust spots, including on the muffler, it is almost rusted through. The tread on the tires is no where near 75% as claimed. The ground effects (bumpers) of the car are cracked, and are loose. Overall it's maybe in FAIR condition. In the advertisement he says the complete opposite. He claimed it had no mechanical problems, and was like it was brand new. I cannot take the vehicle to be inspected yet because has repeatedly told me he sent the title out, and I have no gotten it. He tells me a new story every time. It's been weeks." Anyone have any suggestions to what I should do if it turns out it needs a new tranny? How should I get him to pay for this? He advertised it as it being like brand new. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT Im not even going to say it might have a bent frame, it doesn't. It better not.

dude what were u thinking...you bought the car without even looking at it or driving it!?!!?!?!?!?!? Oh well i guess its too late for that lol. If you totally disatisfied with the car ebay offers a seller gaurentee with all cars up to $20,000, so that basically sellers cannot misrepresent their cars.

I once ran a jeep wriangler I used to have that had been wrecked twice and sunk once. The sinking resulted in having to replace the tranny and rear axle at the dealer. NONE of it shows up on the cArfax report. It was perfectly clean! That same day we ran my best friend's Trans AM. It had been rearended so hard that they had to cut the ENTIRE rear end of of another car and splice the two together. It was almost totalled. Only being brand new saved it. We ran the report on it and it came up clean as well. One of my good friends is a car dealer and he sees cars that have obvious ( to the trained eye) damage and come away witha clean report. NOTHING beats putting your own eyes on the car and looking at EVERYTHING for yourself.

Some of the problems I'm experiencing with the car are actually recalls I'm starting to think. I have no idea if they were fixed by the previous owner before the dealer. Oh and get this, remember how I said the tires are no where near 75%? One of them went flat yesterday while it was sitting in the driveway. And upon a closer inspection, found out that all four of the tires are different types.

I agree with carfax, They dont always list accidents.
Just always show prior ownership and inspections.
