Default Audi S4 2,7T (2000 to 2002)

I would like to know if the Audi S4 2,7T (2000 to 2002) is a good car to buy.

What are the mechanical weakness of this car? What should I look when I want to buy it?

yes they are very good cars, prolly my favorite audi. they can make alot of power. the only weekness i can think of is mods are gona cost alot. talk to vurirtuc he has a b5 s4 apr stage 3 twin turbo, stage 4 porchse brakes, rs4 rims ****s tite. yea can get alot of gains jus by like intake, turboback exhuast, and chip. you shouls proly post this in the tech section. when u drive it make sure you test the tranny good cuz if some idoit owned it the syncros mite be goin. i herd they like to eat turbos too lol i dont know if this is true though.

o yea you should proly get a engine presure test to make sure the turbos are alright. Audi made many updates to cars built after 2001.5+that correct some engine problems with the earlier s4's,s so if u can try and find 1 built after that year. Alot of matanance needs to be done at 60k, so try and buy one thats not around those miles. or if it is make sure the water pump and timing belt have been replaced.

Thanks to rydinturbo for the info. Another question, is it better to find it stock (if possible) or with mods.

And about the Quatro system, is it good.
Heard also the car understeer a bit cause the front of the car is too heavy, is ti a way to reduce that.

there always a way to make your car handle better, u can get coilovers rearswaybars are gonna help alot with the understeer problem. i dont know that much about suseption. jus get adjustable coils and i am sure u can fix the understeer, jus dont put it to low because if you dont know how to set up your suseption thats gonna make u understeet more. from what i have herd quattro awd systems are really good. i really havnt herd of anyproblems from it. infact if u didnt know they band it from lemans [i think its lemans] becuase audi was dominating with it. and almost all awd cars are gonna have a little bit more understeer. yea audi puts its enignes as far upfront as possible. if u have anymore questions ask. i am sure Verrückt could help you more if i dont know something or about handling and everything esle.

audi's are generally not reliable... my mom owns one.. but i mean youll get really good performance out of it... so if you don't care about reliability go for it. remember its a VW

mom has a A4 looks for cylinder head cracks, and dasdboard rattles and leaky roof (for the cabrio that is)
