Default Idle Problem still there...

Well, I've taken off the IACV and cleaned it until it looks brand new, and I took the FITV off and the white cap screw was tight, so I loosened it, retightened it and cleaned it as well. Idle problem is still there...type grrr!

Does anyone know what the fizzle is going on here? I was told that the problem with the idle fluxuating while the car is cold is the FITV. I've been told it's because the white screw inside is loose. Mine was not, but I loosened it and retightened it to make sure it WAS TIGHT. DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON? GRRR! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

If a valve is bad, it would have to be the FITV cause it does it when it's cold, not when it's warm (AICV)...so maybe your right, maybe I gotta get a new valve...boo! :banghead: Anyone else have any other ideas?

did you send me a private message, becuase i dont show one from you???

i have the same problem on my wife's car and ive tried cleaning both the eacv and fitv, no fix. I am replacing the fitv on monday(hopefully if the part comes in) as long as your having idle problems only when cold engine, you can eliminate the eacv(iacv) i talked to a Honda tech at a local dealership and thats what he told me. I found the fitv for $53 at a local dealer. Send me message if ya got any questions, ill be home later on today.

Yeah I sent you one, but I think I sent it to someone named VDUB, not v_dub_ya...lol my bad...
...anyways, yeah it only happens when it's cold. Can you tell me if replacing the FITV fixes the problem when you get the part in? That would be most helpful...the FITV for the B18B unfortunately costs me $87, but it will be worth it for this damn idling problem.

Also, I have a cold air intake on my car now and the engine is not warming up as much as it used to. The temp needle stays at like 1/4 when it used to hold around 1/2. Now I have to drive the hell out of it to get it that warm (1/2). Is this normal or even good on the engine? The only reason it's annoying now is it keeps it RIGHT AT THE TEMP when the idle fluxuates!!!

:banghead:

The cold air intake shouldnt have done ANYTHING to operating temperature of the motor. Sounds to me like you have a FEW issues.

1 : Stuck thermostat
or
2 : Improper ECT reading from sensor.
3 : FITV valve.

1 : Stuck thermostat - could be
or
2 : Improper ECT reading from sensor. - what does ECT stand for?
3 : FITV valve - I'm 99% convinced I need a new one...

Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. I dont think a stuck thermostat would affect the idle, although it would cause the car not to warm up until the cooling fans are required. Sounds like you just need a scanner to look at the actual sensor values but you probably cant get acces to one without going to a shop. good luck with the rolling idle those can be tricky sometimes.
