keep in mind this idea jst came into my head. i have no plans to build it. i was just wondering if it would work. i was walking threw the lot at my scool and i see a AWD toyota trecel...then i was thinking about the 4AG-AE86...then making a bastardchild of the two of them...the trecell trans and transaxle drive line read diff and all that on the AE??? or will the AE transmition work with the trecel drive line??? i didnt have time to crawl under it and look up her skirt to she what she has as far as drive line configuration...does anyone here know...or is it even possible with a reaonable amount of money or is it even worth it? i saw a mitsu. mighty max truck with a 4G63-T in it with the 4X4..not AWD but 4X4 so he could witch it and even use low range..so if thats possible i think this might be.

i thought of that 3 years ago to make an al21 1982*-1985* chasis trecel into rwd. didnt work but its nice they had 4ac engine. The problem with the tercel is drivetrain tranny and diff is too weak. over 110hp and it will break easy. thats why the japanese named it corolla2 cheaper version of the corolla. I seen pic of a converted trecel they used a rx-7 first gen rear end. there shouldnt be much of an issue puting a 4age bolts right. just the rear end. youll face some problems.

Try the ae92 chassis. They already have a AWD S/W that has the 4af so the 4ag would deff bolt to the tranny. Either swap the 4ag into the wagon and turbo it and have a nice little sleeper or you could try to bolt the AWD into the ae92 gts. Dunno what would be involved but Im sure its possible.

so tis your oppinion that the AWD driveline diff and trasmition from the wagon with bolt onto the 4AG and the AE86 Gt-s frame...i said i dint want to do the swap but looking at prices and how easy this is sounding...i think i might want to do it...it would be a downhill machine! will the CV's work does anyone know? and are the suspention setups on the wagon and thew gt-s the same? because if the suspentntion is diffrent..the drive train from the wagon will take a lil more modification to fit it into the gt-s

IF im correct the ae92 wagon is transverse engine. so basically 4wd will be problmatic because the transfer case would be pointing same direction as the engine. your best bet to make it 4wd is to use truck 4wds system should be easier to work with.

i saw the mitsu mighty max truck with the eclipse motor in it again lastnight. he got 400HP out of it...we were running around town eating vettes. and we got owned by a cobra lol. its classic to see the lookes on their faces.... i havent seen a better sleeper than that. back to the AWD86... would it be worth it to try? will it preform good on the track...or will my WRX im getting this month eat it alive? i know they both have AWD..but isnt the center diff on the new subies FAR more advanced and preform much better than just about anything besides the ACD on the Evo VI-IX???
