Default Civic Engine Swap!! Suggestions?

Hi everyone. I'm thinking about buying a honda civic lx from my girlfriend's sister. But her car is an automatic, and her engine needs to be replaced. I would like some suggestions on which type of engines would fit in a honda civic (1992-1995 model). Her car is an automatic, so i'm looking to get a manual transmission engine to swap out the automatic one. I would like any suggestions fron any experts out there on this situation. Thank you.

SR20DET FWD from a Nissan Bluebird!!!

We have one in a sentra that runs low 13's STOCK!!! just swapped in the motor and put a boost controller on it!! Might be fun to put in a civic, but you'll be different. That's hard to do with a Honda

dude u know u cant just swap a manuel motor into a automatic car and thats it right? your gonna have to convert it over to a manuel. which is kinda a biotch. but on which motor to choose. i would choose a B18c1 (gsr motor). or get a b18b1 (integra ls motor) and put like a vtec head on it and make it LS VTEC woot woot. haha all depends on how much ur willing to spend

I would pass on that Civic. If you want a manual, buy a manual. No matter how good of a deal this car is, it won't be a good deal after doing a manual swap. You can find 92-95 Civics for really cheap with a manual already installed. I would get one of those, then do an engine swap when you have the money.

thanks for a l l the suggestions. i was looking at not just a motor swap, but i want to take the whole engine from this civic out (because it's making lots of noises and the tech said it's best to replace it) and make a complete manual swap, like a manual tranny, and a l l the stuff in a manual car. I'm sure the whole process will be a couple grand for labor, but i think it's better than getting a manual for a few grand and make mods to it. at least this way, i can take on an civic si, hehehe.. I was thinking bout the h22a from a prelude, but i'm not sure if any year prelude will fit. if there's any more suggestions, please feel free to add them, i'd appreciate it. thanks again everyone.

no 6 cyl mustangs. just 4s and 8s. 8s have 225 hp stock. high 14s bone stock. if you get an lx notchback style mustang years 87-93 you can get low 14s bone stock. there great cars. the 4 bangers are slow. faster then hondas still but that is still really slow. so go for the v8. good luck in your choices.
