In the research ive done already ive seen that the new sti has a six speed gearbox compaired to the older 5 speed, and bigger diffs on both ends all around beefyer parts. But it seems that something around 400 hp is the limit for the tranny, ive heard of cryo treating the gears. I was thinking on my own that perhaps plasma nitriding might help also but whats the limit to this how much power can you make on this tranny. Anyone know off hand ?
Edit: Although not completely foreign to me, the subaru motors, and parts are not familiar to me. I dont know the motor numbers like I do GM, Ford, Mopar, Honda, Nissan, Toyota etc O thx for the link BTW Last edited by Gtx28; 04 Dec 2004 at 02:57 pm. |

it has been done at Rallitek by one of their techs cause he wrecked his 04 STi and bought it back then bought a GC8 2.5rs 2dr coupe and stuffed everything in and it all fit perfectly like it belonged there
it's on rallitekforums.com IIRC and his s/n is punkrocksailor |

If you have a N/A 2.5RS making 400hp, you need to hop onto NASIOC and RS25.com and let some people know how to do it. There's a company that just hit 300whp N/A with the EJ25, but I don't think I've heard of any more than that. The N/A EJ25 doesn't take to modding very well.
