Having had both: An intake, exhaust, and tune makes a bigger difference on an STI than it does a cobra.

intake and exhaust on an 03/04 cobra should put it in the area of 410-ish rwhp. The subbie was fast no doubt, but I hink its AWD combined w/ a better driver finished off that cobra. The stang just needs some good sticky tires and it might be an even game. Good vid anyways.

The stang was on DR's.
The suby makes almost 300whp, 293.

^normal DR's are not that sticky. He needs MT ET streets, at least 275 wide.

As a daily driver I'd take the STI. Its bags more fun to drive with minor mods than the cobra is. However, if I were a heavy street racer, I'd take the Cobra. Its much less costly to get REAL fast. I wouldn't be happy putting a ton more power into the subaru without having the engine rebuilt.
Granted, at some point, both need beefing up (its not a supra after all), but the Subaru's give-out point comes quicker.

One thing I can careless about is engine displacement.
At the end of the day it's all about power, efficiency & realiability There's a reason why they still compare cars to the 03/ 04 cobras, I agree with you that the cobra looks better ![]() |
