Default anyone know if BOV are ok for 07` sti
hey i just wanted to know if it was okay to put a BOV on my sti... just that i was reading from someone elses comment that it might mess up the catalac converter and stuff. the stock BOV i have sounds real gay bc u can hardly hear it. thats why i wanted to know.. if so someone plz tell me so i can buy an after market one.

Venting to atmosphere will upset the air/fuel mixtures in cars equipped with an Air Flow Meter. The air is measured, then fuel added to suit. If the air is released, then you end up with to much fuel- this can cause back fires, damaged cat, flat/dead spots on/after gear change.

Depending on where you are situated it may also be against the law to vent to atmosphere.

My opinion is to rip the bov off all together. (ps: to those that will talk about improved turbo spool time and turbo life- f..k off. I don't believe any of it based on my experiences)

get a diverter vauvle, they sound just as good. but doesnt mess with the air fule

leave the stock bov unless your running 350+ hp to the wheels. and yes its known the best bov for sti is the stock one. from a former sti owner. dont touch it.
