except where they got hit wasnt normally a danger zone. The driver turned the wrong direction. Must have not heard his co-driver or had a bad note.
There are plenty of incidents where the spectators are standing in a stupid spot and they get hit. This isn't one of them. The driver and co-driver were arrested at the end of the stage. Which is good. They shouldn't have kept going. When something like that happens, you stop. 7 people were injured. For all the driver and co-driver know, people could have died, and yet they kept going. Not really the spectators' fault (although, maybe a little).

i understand where your comin from but thats almost like a dirt bike rider during a moto cross going off the track and they allow spectators to stand on the side. whole point of having them in stands.
thing is when you stand there you know you are taking the risk that you can get hurt, so if you sue, or charge wtf its like ins. fraud almost. and yes the driver should have at least stayed behind and see if everything was alright first.

sorry, your motox comparison is a little off.
Of course there are dangerous places to stand on a rally stage. the outside of a corner, the direct apex of a corner, behind a jump or ridge, etc. Other than that, the marshalls usually have the spectators behind brightly coloured tape, a safe distance away from the road. Yes, accidents are bound to happen. You cant avoid that, except by not having spectators at all, which defeats the purpose of the sport altogether. You cant build grandstands in the middle of the forest or on private farmland just for a few hours of action. So risks are taken by die hard fans, for sure, but it all depends on where they stand.

thank god no one was killed. I can't believe he didn't stop at all. He hit human beings for crying out loud. What kind of soul less person hits someone full speed with a car and doesn't make sure they are ok? I guess he thought, serves 'em right.

Hmm. I guess I see both sides, but I am definitely leaning towards the side of the driver in this case. Regardless of where the fans may be spectating from, they need to understand you assume a certain risk. For example, lets say an axle snaps instead of merely turning the wrong direction and the car veers into the same position. The driver and co-driver would not be arrested for their actions in this case. I understand its not completely the same, but the fans assume the same risk.
As for the drivers contiuing the race...well thats a tough one.

tough one!? Are you seriously saying that?
Who on god's green earth has the power to hurt others (whether or not on purpose, accident or anything therein), but yet think there's some goal that has more reward than human life? If this is rally racing of today - I ain't having no part of it. I'll keep my distance and let people like those (in the video, piloting the car) play innocent while they drive off. It's good they were arrested. I hope they meet everyone's family they left on the side of the road.
