Hey guys need some help

i was wondering how i can repaint a car black? i tried and it comes out way to dark
anyone know that can help?

They are a b*tch to do for me but if I do do one I lasso the whole car (de lasso windows, etc) copy that to a new layer, desaturate that, and go to that variations thing.

i think you have to select the painted parts then take out all the color but leave the hue and saturation somehow. Saw it somewhere once i think...maybe

look at the tutorial thing i did in the stickys in here

select the painted only parts of the car, desaturate it, then go to variations which is under; Image>Adjustments>Variations
then at the far right of the window it says "darker"
click that a few times untill the "current pick" preview pic is how you want it

yea i tried it with another car and it worked
the car i was doing it had way to many reflections and i think thats what made it look bad

yea desaturating a car with alot of reflections kinda ruins it imo

yea i learned it the hardway i was getting frustrated cause i couldnt get it right lol

Here is another way i usually use , after you desaturate the body layer
hit "ctrl+M" to get the curves window , and play with it
