whats the difference between the 350z motor and the skyline engine(besides the turbo) and if i buy a 350z would it be better to just swap the engine out with a skyline engine?

and how much does skyline engine and ect. clip cost?

350Z has a VQ35DE =Aluminum V-6 3.5 liter Dual overhaead cams, Electronic ignition
Skylines have:
VQ35DE = New G35 Skyline (Infiniti G35 in US) has same as above
RB26DETT = Iron inline-6 2.6 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition twin turbo
RB25DET = Iron inline-6 2.5 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition Turbo
RB25DE = Iron inline-6 2.5 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition
RB20DET = Iron inline-6 2 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition Turbo
RB20DE = Iron inline-6 2 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition
CA18DET = Iron inline-4 1.8 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition Turbo
CA18DE = Iron inline-4 1.8 liter Dual overhead cam Electronic ignition
FJ20 = OLD iron inline 4 2 liter single cam

It all depends on what model and what year Skyline you are talking about.

I have the RB20DET in my 240sx.

And "Would it be better to swap it out for a Skyline engine?" Better for what? What is the car for? And which Skyline engine? How much money do you have? And how determined and patient are you when something breaks?

As for the cost...
My RB20DET (Clip) was $1200 + shipping from Cali
RB25DET Clip look to spend $2800 or more+ shipping
RB26DETT Engine set look to spend $3500 or more + shipping. Usually more like $4500 plus shipping, uless you can find some one that had big ideas and couldn't pull it off. Actually not all that uncommon.
