I have a 93 or 94 automatic civic, where and for how much might I procure a type r engine for this car. I knew a guy who got one from miami for like $2,000 but I have no idea where he is now so I can't ask him about it. I don't even know if they work in automatics.

ughh @ swapping a manual into an auto, dont forget about your ecu being a little different ( might cause probs), rewiring the reverse light, adding the clutch pedal, plus if you know how to weld, u need to add a couple brackets for the tranny , and some other crap i cant think of right now. thats why i sold my auto 95 hatchback, was gonna throw the b18b in it and turbo charge it but i didnt know how to weld back then and didnt feel like foolin with all the fabrication , now that im 25 its simple to do but takes patience. gl, lemme know

my hatch is a 95 and auto and well i was supposed to do the transfer to manuel this winter but no money nor time stopped me.. and all that is needed is the following. 1. new axels to accomidate the manuel 2. ECU 3. clutch pedal (and you gotta think if you want hydraulic or cable) 4. tranny 5. maybe two brakets at most (not for the tranny but for the shifter arms) its a very easy job all you need is patiences. well worth it in the end. i would say do the swap and get your self a nice type-r engine fits nicely and will give you nice power..

Yea its not that hard, and well worth it. To me it would be pointless to put a type R motor in with an automatic. Plus a full swap, tranny, wire harness, axles, clutch is cheaper as a package.

type r and even GSRs were never made in automatics, all 5 speeds and as for as the type r engine in the car you will have to get all the wiring and ecu for the engine obd1 to obd2 conversion unless you get a 94-95 gsr engine then you may be able to get away with just the ecu,but i dont think so its just way to much work to do the type r swap and not worth it IMO, since the engine is worth more than your car.....find a 99-00 SI engine and tranny and swap that into there,,,don for get that it will need the B series motor mounts as well.....just buy a civic with a swap or a integra.....be about the same price and no labor
