This is my 1993 Nissan 240 SX SE that I am selling because I have no more room in my driveway. Adult driven, I bought this car last November, and since have only driven it about 3,000 miles. It pretty much sits in my garage all day. The motor is healthy only has 23,000 miles on it. The car is a rare find, and as this price. Minor bumps on body that come along with age, especially in an 12 year old car.

The SR redtop has the better flowing head and will make more power in the end when modded. Especially if you upgrade the turbo.

The SR blacktop has a little better turbo stock, biut does not have as good of a head. If you are leaving it stock, this is the way to go.

What do you want to know about the RB20DET? It costs about half as much as the SR and mod for mod will outperform the SR. It also doesn't have the valvetrain falling apart problems like the SR.

I'm about to walk out the door, to participate the drift event in Atlanta this weekend. I'll be back some time Sunday
I pretty much want to leave it stock as far as the engine goes I mean I'm not goint to try and get 400+ horse powe out of it you know but I still want it have some kick under the hood.
I cant afford to drift since I have to pay for school and there arent any tracks around were I live but I do want it to be able to take corners and slide that back end around when needed. I'm saying its not going to be a drag car by any means just a fun car to drive that isn't too common and will turn some heads.

Then build a KA turbo! For the price of a SR swap you can build the KA with forged pistons and rods and hand a nice T3 super 60 on the side and have a car that makes 300whp and you can buy parts for it at autozone or wherever!

Seeps like every dipsh*t is doing an SR swap these days and they dont even know why... Just to say they have an SR.

Those in the know in the 240 community pretty much make fun of them unless thy have $6000-$8000 in them like the guy in the above video. With $6000 you could have a 600whp KA24 AND a spare built motor if you blew it up!

Go to http://www.ka-t.org/ then clik on the "childs toy" and when the page opens up... check the guys names listed across the top of the page...

especially rick's http://www.ka-t.org/rick/images/633dyno.jpg

the thing is I just want to drop a new more powerful engine in it and be done with the whole thing you know, so I don't have to mess with all this other random stuff buying this and moding that I'm not a mechanic. I just want a nice sileighty to drive around. there arent any places to race people here like I sed before and I don't want this to be a huge project car. my friend has a 944 turbo with 300hp I just wanna keep up with that without spending more that 5000 on the whole car (new front end rims, coilovers and engine) and seeing as how you sed a rb20det engine is alot cheeper with the same power as the sr I'm thinking about just going with that.

oh and I you know any reliable places I can order those thing that would be of great help also.

one love.

Check out Tophat Performance in Atlanta. They offer a fully built KA24deTurbo with all the appropriate mods. Freshly built with turbo and FMIC at a comperable price to an SR swap. Plus it's a completely rebuilt motor, not a 30K. Forged pistons, shot peened rods, ARP studs, etc. Crate motors are available. I just met these cats, way cool. The owner, Mike Sims is the president of SEDA. South East Drift Association. Nice clean shop. When I went there they had like 8 cars getting swapped. 404.787.2362

Who I recommend depends on where you are...

But no chance in hell you are going to have a nice sileighty and a 300hp motor for $5000 unless you do ALL the labor yourself. And still the chances are slim. If you figure $2000 for a decent 240 and then $1000+shipping for the silvia front. Then add $1200+shipping for the motor(was $634 to my house). Your at $4200 + the shipping on the parts and engine(probably close to a grand combined. Now you still dont have the engine installed (lots of little things add up on ANY motor swap, figure another $500 to $1000) and the Silvia front isn't painted to match the car. To make a basic Sileighty with a motor swap and some jdm wheels and a nice paint job, you are looking at closer to 10grand at least, and thats if you do alot of the labor yourself.

I have the car I was talking 5000 for the rest. and I am planing on doing all the werk myself I mean not paying someone I have some friends that can help I know a guy that just did a swap on his supra and he bought all the tools he needed for that and I can get It painted at the votech senter at my school fot the price of paint and no labor cuz a buddy of mine is doing it for me. so I think I might be able to pull it off maybe not 300hp right of the bat but eventualy. another thing the engine you are talking about for 1200 is it the turbo or na?? cus abudy of mine recomended I just buy half of an R34, twin turbo he sed it would be cheaper but I havent looked into that at all plus I don't know if he knows what he is talking about. oh and I live in arkansas so when I sed there isn't realy any places to race or drift besides neighborhoods and drag strips I wasn't joking.

An R34 RB26dett front clip will cost you about $7000-$8000 before shipping and then you will need to buy the RB25 tranny because the RB26 AWD tranny isn't going to work in a RWD 240sx.

The engine I am talking about is the R32 GTS-T RB20DET single turbo. A front clip will run you $1200 + shipping. If you are in Ark. Then I would recommend www.venus-auto.com

As for the front sheet metal. You can generally find a complete S13 Silvia front end for about $800-$1000 WITH the headlights + shippping. The price offen depends on which headlights it comes with . There are the twin projecto, the triple projector and the rarest being the twin square lights. I have never seen a front set with the squares. Everyone always removes them and sells the set without lights or with some twin projectors. They are generally priced like this if sold seperatly:
twin projector= $50-150
triple projector= $100-300
Square type= $250-$500 or more

Just make sure you get some headlight brackets and a hood latch with the set you choose to buy.

ok well the TT engine is ruled out. do you know were I can get the front end from? thats what I need to get first so I can have my friend paint it before he graduates. and after taht I'm gonna save up for that engine. and coil overs and the rest of that fun stuff. oh and how dependable is that web site when it comes to there engines? will I have any problems with it when I get it? and do you know what the milage will be on it if its very high or not??

another thing this might sound dumb but I just thought I'd ask so i know for sure, what do you mean by front clip???

thanks dood for taking all this time explaining this **** to me

We deal in parts like this all the time and the most reliable to place to get the front silvia parts is Ebay believe it or not. here is one from a company that we deal with often. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-N...06343917QQrdZ1. It is very complete and in great shape. It even has the plus for the lights. They are often missing on many sets.

They sell so fast that they are hard to find at any particular business, so we just look on Ebay. Call a jdm suppier and they will usually say" we dont have any but can get you one". Yeah in 2-3 months. Too long to wait so we just liik for people that advertise that they DO have one... Ebay.

As for the engine... it is impossible to say how dependable it is or what the mileage will be. It is a used engine and the stock changes daily.. You would have to ask them. They are 3500 miles from here and I have no idea what they have in stock. The company I listed above with the silvia front also stocks them, but they are high $.

You can buy motors two ways...

Motor set. Usually missing parts:

Or front clip. You pay extra shipping for the weight and then have to get rid of the shell when done,, but is the best way to go. Shipping damage MUCH less likely.

In my general experience RB26DETT clip prices start as follows:
R32 = $4500 and up + shipping
R33 = $5000 and up + shipping
R34 = $6000 and up + shipping

Sometime you can find where someone has bought one and finds out that they cant install it easily in a 240. Or a business that bought one thinking they could sell it to the guy in the previous sentence. Either way they are trying to get SOME of their money back and might sell them cheap. In an S13 you would want to get the R32 model. The wiring harness will be MUCH more similar and easier to wire in.

Huh??? I dont understand what you are saying. That is the point of buying the clip, is to get the motor and tranny and all of the other parts as well.

You are getting an RB25... For an S13 or S14? If it is the S13, I would STRONGLY recommend the RB20DET. Especially if you are going to mod it and not use stand-alone fuel computer. The RB25 tranny is a difficult fit (require hammering the underside of the car.) in the S13. Also the ECU does not respond well to mods, and will have a large flat spot in the mid range to top end. The ECU is not programmable like the RB20 unit is. So to mod the car you need to swap to RB20 ECU (very difficult) or get an Apexi Power FC computer ($1000) or some other stand alone ECU. My RB20 keeps up with my friends all the way to about 120mph and he has more mods. And no nothing is wrong with it except the ECU tunability problem.

thanks dude.

another question is there a big difference in price between the S13 S14 and S15 front ends cuz I was thinking If i'm going to pay all that money might as well get a better looking front like the S14 or S15 and were can I get one cuz I didn't see any on that link you gave.

and that RB engine has 120 000 miles on it. so I don't think I will be purchasing it from them.
