personally i like superchargers better, their easy to put on and are pretty efficient. if you want cheap power get nitrous, just remember not to use too much or you will break your drivetrain, unless you build it so that it can handle what your bolting on. either way you will get a lot more power, but i think a supercharger will be better and safer

do a turbo set up they are cheaper easier to take care of and last longer ... they give about the same or more hp too depends on which .

As doubleduece said, you won't ever run out of a SC in a race
![]() However you need to look at the cost of both, the time needed to install both, and what your really looking for and what your going to be using the car for. I thought I read somewhere about a guy with an SC vette that got like 64mpg or something? I was wondering if someone could clarify about mpg when adding an supercharger.

are you sure?????? think about all the work thats goes into bolting a turbo kit onto an LT1 and the cost of a kit. also all the tuning that has to be done i cant say that i know how its done or how much it costs but a s/c kit IS gonna be cheaper and easier to bolt on. Your right though a well engineered turbo kit will outpower a good s/c kit but again it comes down to the price. as for s/c or nos go s/c, nos maybe cheaper but cant use it steady for much more than 15 sec or it will cook most stock engines ( even if only a 50 shot ) and the s/c will have power whenever and wherever you need it and even when you dont. also with a s/c you wont lose any drivibility. the motor will just drive like a bigger more powerful version of itself. as for reliablility the s/c takes almost no maintenace whereas a with a turbo ( especially on a V8 ) will require a lot of work to keep it up in proper working order meaning it needs to cool down before shut it off etc. etc . with a s/c just start your car normally and drive away for the most part. hope that helps and please correct me if i am wrong as i imagine most will lol

Doing anything to the 93-97 ( LT1 ) 98-02 ( LS1 ) Fbodys
Supercharge or Turbo it, Is gonna be a Pain the ass. Very tough working space. Then the Turn around on BURNT custom chips is kinda of a slow process as well. I could go on and on, But if this guy responds back, i will be shocked. Until then who cares ![]() |

oh blah blah everyone says that if u put nitrous on a motor you are gonna fry your tranny or you're gonna blow holes in your pistons....lies i tell you lies. i have put nitrous on many cars and trucks and i have yet to have any issues. Its not the nitrous that is the problem its normally the person installing it. If you are planning on using nitrous on your camaro (assuming LT1) you can easily handle a up to a 75 shot on the "street" with out having to worry about to many complications if u have an "accident". you arent gonna have an big hp jump using nitrous but if you are looking for that extra edge off the street lamps i'd say save your money and use nitrous. BUT if you are planning on "road racing" or going to the strip to race i would recommend using a s/c. you are going to be paying out of ur ass for this though. you are gonna have a lot more work put into and most "bolt on" superchargers i would recommend to do yourself. there are a lot of little things that have to be done just to make sure everything runs correctly unless you wanna have to fix something down the road. Superchargers rattle your motor to bits and at most shops we will check things and tighten them down before we even start the install... this sounds like a lot of bullshitting but ya know i dont wanna see you or your car hurt so i would go to a professional and have them atleast estimate the time and the procedure of what you want done.
short story: Nitrous is good if done right and is cheap for little bursts. Supercharger is Expensive but has constant hp gains which is good. Longevity of motor can be an issue with supercharger.
