Nitrous is cheaper,Superchargers dont have much potential in horsepower,Turbochargers would be the most expensive route but you'd have a higher horsepower and more potential....

and about the corvette having 60+mpg was wrong, that was a error it threw.

Go with the nitrous, get all the safety stuff you can get for it - get it tuned. You'll have money to spair for supporting mods + some bolt-ons and you'll get a higher hp rating then a supercharger.

Depends on how much you use the nitrous. My friend uses a 10 lbs. bottle every week, and pays 20 dollars to refill it. Now there are 53 weeks (I think) in a year. If I am right that is 1,060 a year in just refilling the tank (he only uses it during the summer months cause we have winter here but still every week from march - october adds up). Now if you use it like some other friends and only go through one 10 lbs bottle every month and half that is only 60 - 80 bucks for the summer to refill the tank.

Well I have never heard of someone going through a 10lb bottle once every week, how big is the shot a 250? I had a 125 shot on one of my older small blocks and that lasted me at least a solid month with regular use. I am not driving around with my finger on the buttom all day but you could say I used it alot more then i needed to and I got at least a month out of it.
Around here fill ups are more like 50 dollars though, wish it was 20. Another thing to think about is, does your friend leave the bottle open all the time or only when he is about to use it?

We have winter too!!! Sorry couldn't help it.

Hey Ramsie.... How do you figure a turbo set up is more $ than a supercharger. Every supercharger I have ever seen was $2500+, and more like $3500. We build turbo setups all the time for about $1000_$1200.

It doesn't matter which you prefer... Just make SURE it has enough FUEL to keep up with the air!!!

Didnt know if you knew this but .8 Xs HP Jetting = Every 10 secs
Like .8 Xs 3 for 300 Jetting =2.4lbs every 10 seconds of use.
I spend 45 bucks on a 15lb bottle and get 6-8 passes on a full bottle with bottle heater. I stay either in the 400hp or 500 jettings depends on track conditions. But they have refills at the track here if you run out. They run 50,60,70 on a refill. So I know where your coming from on the cheapness. Wished it was that cheap here as well. Not to mention the $5.50 a gallon Sunoco 112 Octane gas. Alcohol here is 2.10 a gallon , looks like Im going to be a lush soon enough haha

That's right, this sweet baby was made in Grand Rapids, Michigan; retails for about one hundred nine, ninety-five. It's got a walnut stock, cobalt blue steel, and a hair trigger. That's right, shop smart, shop S-Mart!

i would have to say that i would use a blower over nitrous. you dont burn up pistons with a blower and you dont have to replace you rings every 6 months. also its cooler to look at a roots blower or a vortech blower.

Im just going by numbers on ls1 cars, superchargers maybe 7k max, turbos= 10k-50k.

Holy CRAP!!! Some body is sticking the BIG one in ya for $10-$50K We could build some bad A$$ SH-tuff (cough cough) for $10,000.

We have a fully restored 77 Monte Carlo that we have been thinking about putting a 383 with a big a$$ T88 on it. We added it all up... rods, pistons, everything and came up with a little more than $10K, and that was witha $2500 turbo and a fully built engine!

Will probably never happen though. We've all converted to Nissan from our domestic days. Hmmm maybe a 77 Monte Carlo with a RB26 in it...

He has a 150 shot hooked to a automatic switch on the throttle body. He uses it quite a bit, he also has a remote bottle opener just cause you never know when the time you need it will come up.

I did not know the exact formula for it, i had a idea it was about that though. Wow 400-500 is some heavy shots, lol i like it. You gotta also factor in purging between runs, adds up after a while. What I do is this, I picked a bunch of 10lb bottles, I go to the speed shop get em all filled up at once, they give me a little bit of a deal for bringing them all at once, then i just store em till i need em. Yea 112 is about the same down here too. The next engine build up i do im definatly gonna run a mild compression BBC setup. Might cost more to build but your gonna save money on gas prices in the long run.

Like I said these numbers are for LS1 cars. Lingenfelter.com has the most expensive kits, but you also get great performance for a car you drive every day. I think you get a 30k warrenty too.

Or you can spend 10k on a kit, get good numbers with no warrenty, not sure on if you could use it as a daily driver.

It just depends on what you want, but speed is expensive. I think if you dont have the money then you should try a diffrent hobby

Amen I love small blocks, but nothing is like that big end charge. Best feeling on earth when your pulling HARD on the big end.
