welded is just for low speed ,acts like the lsd and that’s nice 50/50 both wheels spin nice for donuts , but the bad thing at high speed the lsd starts to behave as open or almost open with a ratio up to 90/10 depending on the corner but the welded keeps the 50/50 and that will be a bad thing and a miss .
at rain or a lil bit dirt the welded makes donuts almost the speed of a awd. and keep in mind the possibility of that the welding may brake and the diff lock while driving that will be bye bye |

Lol, I can be helpful. Just easier to be an ******* lol.
Seriously though the lsd will be much much better suited for you. Save the money and get it rather than having one welded.

I ran a locked centre in my RX7 for a while. In the wet it tended to cause a lot of turn in understeer. Great for u turns on the street. Great for getting unwanted attention as you turn, inside wheel skipping/chirping. After a few months of abuse I ended up breaking a set of axles.
Best of getting a good lsd. Best of everything...well except cost!

Just to throw a bit more gas in this fire... Welded (or locked diffs, sometimes called spools) aren't actually necessarily slower than a high tech LSD. A lot depends on the car its being put in, for example a lot of the F1000 and sports racers run with spools in them. The reason is that on a track car, you're supposed to be trailbraking into the corner and keeping the weight on the front tires anyway. Less weight on the rear=less grip, hence the understeeriness of the spool is mitigated. The advantage comes on the exit when you put the power down, as the breakaway of the rear under power is much more progressive. Like other people have said, probably not a good idea for a road car but in the hands of a talented track driver, it can be astonishingly quick.
