What kind of turbo? Oil and, coolant or just oil?
If it's oil only then it's highly recommended, hence what turbo timers for.

If you're thrashing the hell out of it, then yes, let it idle.
Otherwise just cruise those last few km home and it will be alright.

Like what Grimey said, someone had asked Car and Driver this question. They said that as long as you take it easy for the last 5 minutes or so of your drive then you don't need to let it idle. However if you were running it a little harder than you should let it sit for a bit.

You have to allow the oil to cool that's running thru your turbo before you turn the motor off if you've just been driving it hard.. If the turbo is both oil and liquid cooled then you don't really have to but it's better safe then sorry.

its always better to let it cool down.the same as its alot better to wait till oil is warm or oil pressure nearly up before moving after starting up.

Even on a N/A car, after running hard you shouldnt just "turn it off and go have a cold one" you should put it in neutral/park and let it chill, and even give a bit of gas for the rad fan to turn on (if not already on)

I let mine sit for about 30sec(turbo timed) Once in a blue moon on the freeway I let boost have it's way for some spirited driving afterwhich I'll set the time to 1min or so. If I remember right in the Blitz manual it says for every half hour to an hour or so in boost u should set the car to idle a few minutes or so. Just let it sit a bit(few secs to a min) it won't hurt.
