Default I Blew My Turbo

i blew my turbo Garett T03===>

an oil hose disconnected, it dried out over heated and blew (didnt even give head) wasnt even going fast (170km/h). I pisses Me off because BLACKMILK (boyd) told me in the other thread "oh You should get an oil pressure gauge" and i was like "i will, along with Battery and outside temperature" i was gonna... whatever it was passed date anyways, at least there is no damage to the engine and if there was it would only be another reason for the dohc twin turbo T6 to become king of the hill. So im slamming in a T04 or a GT40 AKA. BLOWZILLA to see what happens. I wonder how much power can i get at 14.9Psi and actually since it will be bigger, at 20psi!!!! I would need to get volvo 960 injectors though
and i need a god damn scanner to post my f#ckin dyno sheet on this f#cker !
T4 VS. T3

GT40

i wont paint it blue but it will hopefully look something like this and pushing 500hp lol
He is actually pushing 650Hp

im not sure lol, i know they can take a sh1t load but the engine head has to be changed since its aluminum it tends to let cylinder #3 out the top !

You should swap in a new volvo's awd system, that way you could put down all that power in the snow too.

Sorry to hear about that.. but just be thankful you didnt lose the motor.

An oil pressure gauge should be mandatory on all cars, imo. it helped me save my motor this spring: a brick on the road somehow knocked a hole in my oil filter and luckily I noticed the pressure gauge start dropping off to 5psi -> pulled over and turned it off immediately. Left a nice 1/4 mile long oil slick behind me.

Sorry to heard that Marek

Boost pressure and 'displacement' of turbo are 2 things differents
At the same boost, the T4 will send more air than the T3 WARNING
You need more fuel to have a stockiometric value of the AFR or you will blow the pistons.....

And I didn't spook of lag.....which be huge the T4 will start to spool at highest RPM than the T3.....
It will give something like 100hp at 4000rpm and 300hp at 5500rpm......

For an example, T4 is the best turbo for a street/drag use for my supra which has 3 liters of displacement.....

The turbo world needs a lot of knowledgements to understand it
My technical bible is : http://www.amazon.com/Maximum-Boost-.../dp/0837601606

This book is also available in .PDF file on P2P emule/edonkey

My tip : buy a T3 with a better A/R
If possible with ball bearings, the turbo will spool until 500 rpm 'sooner' (i'm not sure of the last word :S)

um that doesn't make much sence to me marek, you would gain compression not displacement. compression isn't your friend when forcing a/f into your motor.

Sucks that the turbo died, but at least ur motors fine nothing worse than shrapnel/metal shavings getting sucked into the engine. But as this turbo died a better one will take it's place.
