EH!
well i'm thinking about getting a supercharger for my chevy in the future. I've been looking around and a lot of them give you power toward the 700hp mark, and well even though it's sounds good it's not conventional, plus with my pay it'll take this summer and next summer till i can affored to get my truck running with one... the point is that with all of your guys expierence i was wondering if you could give me some pointers and advise on which one is the most fuel effiecent, and less costly, and how much hp it puts out... thank you for helping me

well from my experience, superchargers dont add as much power as a turbo, but they have very strong pull at low-mid end, as for fuel costs, it should change that much considering you arent off and on the gas as much
but like i said, i havent messed with superchargers before so what im saying is just based on my turbo experience

well from my experience from supercharged M3's to turbo supras, a supercharger has a very linear and straight power curve, power seems to never fall until u've reached the redline....on the other hand, turbo is more efficient since it works off the exhaust not the belt, turbo has more power potential than supercharger, and once it hits the powerband ur off like a bat out of hell!!:thumb:

what motor are you planning on running this blower with? I dont think you are getting 700 hp w/out built internals and a host of supporting mods on any sbc (for more than 1 pass, anyways hehehe). Making big power on a chevy motor is easy.. but not *THAT* easy...

hahaha and chevy..... but yea the thing is turbos require more maintanence then S/C's do and there more of a pain in the ass, more things are needed with them. i say S/c it. |

i dont think 700hp would be quite necessary if its gonna take you that long. Just get a 350, stroke it and but some decent parts in it and you should be makin 450-500. more than enough for a truck

Good call. (Though you could easily get one out of the junkyard for that kind of money.) |
